lol standard chartered marathon | Thursday, December 21, 2006
I must have been a lil' mad i supposed to join the marathon. but nontheless still completed it till the end of the line. The cramps and torture and the walk was just simply, simply, torturous i could muster that word out. No the simple kind of marathon and i completed in a slow time of 6 hrs and 50 mins. LOL. I still came late and start running at 06:15 hrs when the initial marathon started at 06.00hrs then i finally kept running slowly till the 8km mark when i took my first walk and run started from there. 100 plus, plain water, sugar and bananas filled the way up. Oh well, that was like 3rd Dec. Saturday haha after that hor still got some damned abrasions and some injury to my right foot. cramps was disastrous and i simply couldn't move by then. The thot of walking came across my mind when i actually reached the finishing line. The only thing i remember most vividly was the super long walk from nicole highway allt he way to ford road and ECP and out and back into the nicole highway all the way down to the direction of the esplanade. And of coz, the turning pt for the half marathon runners. That was the time when i wished i could turn back there. Kaoz. Madness. From there it was bad.
And finally for your info, it was 42.195km. The last 195m was sickening. haha. I finished 5500 our of 6500 contestants i think. think so.haha there hundreds behind me but i'm just glad its over. A medal and a finisher tee. 1km = S$1. Hmmmm, worth it? LOL
I hope this first and ever marathon will not be the last one though. Feels gd to finish it. At least it means.
